What exactly is Wining About Art?
Wining About Art is an original program created by PAC that presents a new series of art talks in a very special way! Each art historical topic will be paired with wines from the associated region. Our speakers are professors, educators and professionals in their field and our wines are carefully curated to complement each lecture.
Lecture with: Prof. John Cino & Wine specialist Lori Devlin
Taking their cues from the Post Impressionists, artists of the early 20 th century continued pushing the boundaries of abstraction until reaching the crisis of World War 1. After reviewing the works of the major Post Impressionists this talk will continue with discussions of Matisse and French Fauvism; Picasso and Cubism, Kandinsky and German Expressionism and the Italian Futurists. Each movement developing concepts from Post Impressionism created new directions for later artists as they reached a crescendo at the dawn of WW1.
