Welcome Spring! Hike to the Breach

March 20, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Welcome Spring Hike to the Breach

In the Northern Hemisphere, the March equinox (aka spring equinox or vernal equinox) occurs when the Sun crosses the equator line, heading north. This event marks the start of the spring season in the northern half of the globe. After this date, the Northern Hemisphere begins to be tilted more toward the Sun, resulting in increasing daylight hours and warming temperatures. Join a park ranger for a 3-mile round trip hike to the breach at Old Inlet to celebrate this auspicious day! Dress for the weather and for walking on sand. Bring drinking water and a snack.

Register in advance for this event as space is limited to ensure safe social distancing. Participants will be asked to follow CDC and local public health guidelines for COVID-19. We ask the public to be our partner in recreating responsibly by adopting social distancing practices and by wearing a face covering when social distancing cannot be maintained.
