Join Prof. John Cino for a special art history lecture featuring the Art of the Asian Near East
The lands to the east have fascinated western civilizations since Roman times. Encompassing Anatolia (present day Turkey), the Arabic Peninsula and Persia (present day Iran), the region has had complex relationships sometimes allied, sometimes adversarial with its neighbors to the west. From this region came three of the world’s most important religions and vast empires.
