3rd Annual Veterans Headstone Dedication
November 9 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
For the past three years, the CRC has worked with the US Veterans Administration to replace damaged or missing headstones for a number of civil war veterans, and raised funds to professionally re-set the stones in the historic Lakeview Cemeteries. Most of the stones were dedicated in solemn ceremonies on the Saturday before Veterans Day in 2017 and 2018 and CRC is proud to be continuing this work. We will dedicate 3 new civil war stones and two restored revolutionary war veterans stones in this year’s ceremony on November 9 at 11:00 am. The headstone re-dedication ceremony will be hosted by the CRC and conducted by the Richard J. Clark Camp 210, Sons of Union Veterans of Patchogue, reenactors of the 67th NY Infantry, who will render funeral honors with a rifle salute in period uniform and Mike Amodio, Past Commander of the VFW and Amvets, who will play Taps. Color Guards for the ceremony will be provided by Patchogue Veterans groups from VFW JayneLattin Post 2913, American Legion Patchogue Post 269, AMVETS Hammond Biggs Post, and scouts from Boy Scout Troop 540 and Cub Scout Pack 543.
