 Davis
Park, Leja Beach and Ocean Ridge, Fire Island,
Town of Brookhaven, Suffolk County, Long Island, New
York
Are you a boater, day-tripper or "landlubber"
staying in one of the many beach houses, Davis Park,
like all of Fire Island, is situated on one of the
world's most beautiful beaches. It consists of miles
and miles of pure, white sand. You can frequently
see deer actually walking on the boardwalks, no
longer afraid of people.
It seems that Davis Park is really three entities in
one: Davis Park in the west; Leja Beach which is the
Brookhaven Town Beach in the center; and Ocean Ridge
to the east. The three sections of the community are
quite distinguishable from one another. Davis Park
proper has thicker growth and more trees and
shrubbery; Ocean Ridge, flatter, sandier, stretches
away along a central boardwalk all open to view.
Leja beach is the commercial district: the harbor
store, liquor store, snack bar, and Town of
Brookhaven Marina. Then there’s the Casino Café and
Casino Bar along the bay-to-ocean walk. The Casino
Cafe and Casino Bar is in the center of it all, atop
a dune commanding a view of the bay, the ocean and
the entire community. A beautiful spot to have a
relaxing drink, dine, talk with friends, or just
watch the waves roll in. Note there's no gambling at
the Casino Cafe and Casino Bar, its name is from
Clams Casino and there is no hotel in Davis Park,
but many beach house privately owned and rented out
for weeks at a time.
